Ecological parameter: tolerance score

Parameter group: region related parameters

Explanation:
The parameter indicates the potential distribution range of a species based on its stream (longitudinal) zonation preference. Species with a high score only occur within narrow distribution limits while species with a low score have a wide distribution range. For calculating the score, littoral and profundal preferences are generally included, but species with more than half of their distribution points allocated in littoral and profundal zones are excluded. The score is the basis for calculating the tolerance index (TI) of a coenosis (Graf et al., 2020).
