Explanation:
The three trait categories defined for investigating the temperature preferences of taxa, distinguish psychrophilic taxa (i.e. taxa exhibiting distributions limited by water temperature upper than 15 °C), thermophilic taxa (i.e. taxa exhibiting distributions limited by water temperature lower than 15 °C) and eurythermic taxa (i.e. taxa able to live in a wide range of temperature).
