Ecological parameter: trophic status (preferendum) according to Tachet

Parameter group: saproby related parameters

Explanation:
This trait describes the distribution of aquatic invertebrates according to the trophic status (nutrient availability) of a water body, from oligotrophic (i.e. low nutrient availability and thus low biological productivity) to eutrophic (i.e. high nutrient availability and thus high biological productivity). Indirectly, this trait provides information on a taxon's sensitivity to general nutrient availability and eutrophication. Three categories are defined.

Additional information:
Note that several classifications of the Tachet database are on higher taxonomic level than on species level. To display them in the list please enable "include higher taxonomic units" in the "advanced search".
