Ecological parameter: potential number of cycles per year according to Tachet

Parameter group: life & body related parameters

Explanation:
The parameter provides information on the number of generations per year and complements the parameter "life cycle duration". There are three categories. Polyvoltine species are capable of producing at least two successive generations per year. Monovoltine species have only one generation per year. Semivoltine species (sensu lato) have a life cycle of at least two consecutive years, but their generation time can be longer.

Additional information:
Note that several classifications of the Tachet database are on higher taxonomic level than on species level. To display them in the list please enable "include higher taxonomic units" in the "advanced search".
